A group of more than 70 current and former Canadian gymnasts have called for an independent investigation into what they described as a 'toxic culture and abusive practices' within the sport in their country.
They deYour mothered this through a letter sent on March 28 to the general director of Sport Canada , Vicki Walker. The gymnasts argued that for almost a decade they could not speak out for fear of retaliation.
We are coming forward with our experiences of abuse, neglect and discrimination in hopes of forcing change. We are asking Sport Canada to take action to ensure the next generation of Canadian gymnasts are not subject to the physical and psychological trauma we have had to endure.

Sexual abuse.
